Through this Indefinite Delivery / Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) vehicle, we stand ready to support critical missile defense, space, cyber, and systems-engineering requirements to help safeguard the homeland and U.S. forces worldwide.

About MDA SHIELD

SHIELD (Scalable Homeland Innovative Enterprise Layered Defense) is MDA’s flagship IDIQ contract vehicle under the broader Golden Dome for America initiative. It is designed to give MDA — and other authorized DoD components — rapid, flexible access to a wide range of technical services and capabilities covering air, missile, space, cyber, and hybrid-domain threats.

The contract emphasizes agility, innovation, and modern engineering practices, including artificial intelligence (AI) / machine learning, digital engineering, open-systems architecture, model-based systems engineering (MBSE) and agile acquisition/development workflows.

Contract Details

• Contract Type: Multiple-Award Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity (MA-IDIQ)
• Contract Ceiling: $151 billion (over full 10-year period, if all options exercised)
• Scope / Work Areas: SHIELD covers a broad spectrum of capabilities, including but not limited to:
  
  • Research & development, prototyping and technology maturation
  • Systems engineering, architecture development, modeling & simulation, data analytics and AI/ML-enabled solutions
  • Weapon design & development, integration and assembly, hardware/software modifications, production and fielding
  • Test & evaluation, sustainment, modernization, operations support, cyber / C5ISR, and overall lifecycle support across classified and unclassified domains as needed.
• Functional Areas: Engineering services, program management, and related support
• Ordering Period: Up to 10 years (base + options)
• Eligible Customers: The contract is available to MDA and other DoD agencies with requirements aligned to SHIELD’s mission scope.
